How AndysBikes handles information you share with us
Andy's Motorcycles, online as AndysBikes, respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect when you use andysbikes.com and how we use it.
Contact enquiries
When you send a message through our contact form, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number (optional), vehicle registration, make, model, year, and your message. For eBay item enquiries we also collect the listing URL you paste.
We use that information only to respond to your enquiry and to help with MOT, repair or parts requests. Messages are emailed to our workshop inboxes. We do not sell your details.
Vehicle registration lookups (when enabled) use the official DVSA MOT History service to pre-fill make, model and year on the contact form, and to show MOT due dates and test history on the MOT check page. Lookups run on our server. We do not keep a search history of registrations looked up on the MOT check tool. Registrations included in a contact enquiry are only kept as part of the email we send ourselves.
MOT email reminders
MOT reminders are optional. If you actively consent, we send a confirmation link to prove that you control the email address. No reminders are activated until you click it. Unconfirmed requests expire and are deleted. Once confirmed, we store your email address, registration, motorcycle details, current MOT expiry, the time and version of your consent, and random confirmation/unsubscribe tokens. We use this only to check for a new MOT cycle and send up to two reminder emails per cycle: when you can renew without losing your renewal date and shortly before expiry.
Your consent continues for future annual MOT cycles so you do not need to enrol again. Every email contains a one-click Stop reminders and remove my data link. Using it permanently deletes that reminder record, including your email, registration and token, and stops future emails. You can also ask us to delete it using the contact details below.
The lawful basis for these emails is your consent. We keep the reminder record only until you withdraw that consent. We do not add reminder details to unrelated marketing lists, sell them, or use them for other purposes.
Website analytics
If privacy-friendly analytics are enabled on this site, they collect basic visit statistics (pages viewed, approximate region, device type) without using advertising cookies and without identifying you personally. Analytics do not include vehicle registrations, MOT check lookups, or parts search keywords.
Your last-checked MOT registration may be stored in session storage on this device until you close the tab, only so we can offer a “check again” shortcut — it is not sent to our servers or analytics until you run a new check. MOT check still does not keep a server-side search history.
We use analytics only to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
eBay and third parties
Parts search and listings are loaded from our eBay store. Clicking through to eBay or Facebook, or using Google Maps, is subject to those companies’ own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you from website enquiries, or ask us to delete it, by emailing email@andysbikes.com (opens in a new tab) or calling the store.
